Geriatric Medicine

Dr. Manoj C Jacob joined the Sunrise team to start a specialised Geriatric Medicine service and provide comprehensive and holistic care for older persons. An alumnus of Government Medical College, Calicut he went on to complete his Post-graduation in Internal Medicine from Christian Medical College, Ludhiana. He also completed his Cert. in Ger. Medicine and Gerontology from Geriatric Society of India and KB University. 

Having worked as a Physician in acute care and infectious disease settings for more than 10 years, he felt a call to focus on the care of older adults and address their special needs. After training in Palliative Care from the Indian Academy of Palliative Care, he then trained in Geriatric Medicine from CMC Vellore and started Prathyasha Elder Care service, dedicated to the needs of older persons in Kochi. In addition to comprehensive assessment and care, specialised Geriatric home care of those with limited mobility was also provided. He comes with 25 years of experience which includes more than 10 years of dedicated work in Palliative and Geriatric Medicine.
